A gym set into the base of a residential block, and lit so the building announces it without a hoarding.
The site is a long rusticated podium wall beneath apartment towers, which is a difficult thing to advertise from: there is no elevation to put a sign on, only a retaining wall people drive past. So the wall itself became the sign. The mark is thrown onto the stone in light rather than fixed to it, repeated down the run at intervals a car can read at speed, and the entrance is marked by the one vertical element on the whole facade — a backlit slatted screen that breaks the horizontal and tells you where the door is.
Nothing was added to the building. The identity is entirely light, so it reads at night, disappears by day, and can be recoloured for a season without touching the structure.

Existing rusticated stone podium, backlit vertical timber-effect slat screen, projected gobo signage, continuous linear strip lighting, neon-profile lettering, planting.

Built to be seen from a moving car, and to give the residents above it their wall back during the day.
